Equine Therapy Positively Impacting Lives

Bow Valley Equine Adaptive is a welcoming community dedicated to providing horsemanship and therapeutic riding opportunities for individuals with physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges.

Since 2000, we have been honoured to run our program at Camp Chief Hector YMCA, offering sessions every spring, summer, and fall. Our horsemanship programs run either at the Bow Valley Riding Association or the Banff Light Horse Association.

Our program not only enhances horsemanship skills but also supports physical therapy, muscle strengthening, as well as cognitive, social and emotional well-being through the special bond between riders and horses.

As we prepare for another impactful season, we look forward to welcoming both new and returning participants to experience the benefits of therapeutic riding in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!

“The confidence and physical growth I have seen in my daughter over the last few years of riding and learning to work with a horse have been huge; this growth has also crossed over into tasks in her daily life.”
